When we started years ago, trading as Heritage Hall and working mainly
with historic images, the word “giclée” was almost unknown in the U.K.
We spent lots of time explaining to potential clients, “It’s pronounced
‘zhee-clay’ and denotes a very accurate, long-lasting digital fine art
printmaking process controlled by a crystal frequency that applies millions
of pigment ink particles in a microscopic spray to specially coated papers.”
At that point, their eyes glazed over. Well they would, wouldn’t they?
This experience taught us a lesson, which is: technology matters, but
people care much more about other things. Like having a trustworthy,
friendly team who are prepared to tweak and improve until every little
detail is just perfect before printing. So that’s exactly what we do,
providing our specialist giclée service to artists and photographers
throughout Britain and Europe.
Rest assured, we’ll go on upgrading our scanners and printers. But
more importantly, we’ll cherish your work. Interleave your prints with
handmade mulberry paper. Turn each order around within days. And –
oh, yes. If you visit our woodland studio, we’ll even offer you scrummy
chocolate biscuits with your coffee. Now, how many other giclée printers
would do that?
