When we started years ago, the word “giclée” was almost unknown in the U.K. We spent lots of time explaining to potential clients, “It’s pronounced ‘zhee-clay’ and denotes a very accurate, long-lasting digital fine art reproduction process controlled by a crystal frequency that applies millions of pigment ink particles in a microscopic spray to specially coated papers or canvas.”
At that point, their eyes glazed over. Well they would, wouldn’t they? This experience taught us a lesson, which is: technology matters, but people care much more about other things. Like having a trustworthy, friendly team who are prepared to tweak and improve until every little detail is just perfect before printing.
