As you might guess from our name, we’re fairly eco-aware. Our family-run business operates from a very well-insulated log studio on the edge of our own woodland. We’re not like smelly, chemical-ridden print services of old; ours is a clean, modern system.

All the substrates we use are acid-free, as is the interleaving paper we use when packing. All office paper is shredded and goes into our compost bins with kitchen waste, making good compost for our garden. Printing paper waste goes into the familiar green bins and we take it to our municipal recycling centre. Cardboard is also recycled.

Ink cartridges do contain some plastics and pigment residues, and these have to be put into separate bins at the same municipal waste centre. And the best quality printing substrates come from Germany, so we must import these. However, we plant lots of new trees in our 3.5 acres every year, hopefully cancelling out some of the CO2 involved in transport.
