Photographer's Statement
"I started shooting horses about three years ago, after moving from London to the West Country - heart of so many equine disciplines. As an extensive traveller, wherever I am, I naturally try to catch the essence of the animals themselves. But I also strive to capture the spirit and personality of the people who work with them, wonderful textures and colours of their natural and working environments, and the emotion and intimacy shared between horse and human.
I use Nikon D3 and D3x bodies. My first (and still-used) camera was an F3; the most useful lenses are 2.8 28-70 and 80-200. For the future, I hope to push the equine studio work further and spend equal time on portrait commissions."
