Gallery Three - Andy Cox

Worcestershire I.T. professional Andy Cox might never have explored the creative side of life, had it not been for a wedding anniversary and the yen for a meaningful present. We’re glad he picked up his pencils and told his soulful Wiemaraner to “Sit!”.

Artist's Statement

“I’ve been interested in drawing, photography and design forever. I have no formal training, but my father was a surveyor, and as a child I spent hours with him learning about perspective, drawing to scale, and developing an eye for detail.

“My creative flair took a bit of a back seat to a career in I.T. It was Paula, my wife, who sparked me taking up the pencil again. What could I get her for our wedding anniversary? Of course - a drawing of one of our dogs!

“I still work in IT, but now combine it with my more creative side. I concentrate on pet photos and pencil portraits, and take great pleasure in meeting new pets and the people they own.”
