Gallery One - Gill Dyer
Not all graphic designers can make the transition into a fine art genre. But Gill Dyer has “loosened up” her style by going with the flow of Nature and its seasons.

Artist's Statement
"Previously, I worked in the Graphic Design industry. Then my husband’s job took us to the Isle of Man. This beautiful island offers lots of inspiring scenery to paint, from castles and ancient settlements to harbours and beaches. I’m always amazed by the changing light on the undulating landscape, and the new colours that appear through the seasons. I often sketch rocks, as their forms are so interesting, and pools left behind by the tide. Wild flowers appear among the crags, and this is where I try to find a quiet spot and make sketches.
Taking a direct approach and working in the open helps me capture mood and colour. I paint in watercolours, oils, and some mixed media. I also enjoy helping other artists with their exploration of the natural world, and have been tutoring for about 10 years."
