John 'Jumbo' Taylor hails from Scotland, but now lives in Suffolk, where luminous coastal light draws him to shapes and textures carved by the sea.
Photographer's Statement
“I love the way the world looks - particularly the way it looks in pictures. I have a degree in photography from the Royal College of Art, London, but originally, I studied drawing, painting and illustration Fine Art at Duncan of Jordanstone College Of Art Dundee, Scotland, and this has imbued my photos with a distinct graphic flavour.
“I’m extremely interested in colour, texture and the qualities of natural light and I rarely uses artificial light sources. My work is in numerous private collections as well as the V&A, the Museum of London and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston Texas. I exhibit worldwide and my publishing company 'Jumbo Editions' has just produced two books of Aldeburgh images.
