Gallery Two - Lucy Heber-Percy
Explore Lucy’s poetic photos. Heat and sand blur reality. In a derelict desert house, a bathtub collapses like an animal kneeling at a dry water hole.

Artist's Statement
“I turned my passion for photography into my career about four years ago, specialising in plants, gardens and works of art. Colour, nature, and a fascination with “what used to be” inspire my work. The images shown here came from a recent holiday in Namibia.
“I found the bath in Kolmanskop, an old diamond mining town that was evacuated in 1956. Somehow, the hand- stencilled walls had survived unfaded. Wolwedans is located in the NamibRand Nature Reserve. Here, I wanted to capture the quiet harmony of the landscape and its soft light. Dead Vlei lies in a ‘pan’ of pale clay created by the Tsauchab River. Its bone-dry acacias trees died over 500 years ago.”
